CONTROLLER JOB DESCRIPTION

Overview
The Controller is responsible for coordinating, administering and controlling the financial reporting process for our Clients

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing budgets and financial plans    
  • Train and supervise accounting staff
  • Manage monthly financial statement reporting process including review, analysis and interpretation of financial results
  • Establish and implement financial accounting systems required to maintain reporting requirements
  • Establish and implement internal control guidelines
  • Assist in establishing and implementing revenue recognition policy
  • Establish cash management monitoring system, manage accounts payable and receivables/billings
  • Provide accurate and reliable financial reporting to third party investors, creditors, boards, etc.
  • Design custom financial reports to facilitate day to day management decisions and external reporting requirements
  • Provide timely reports of financial results and other financial information to department heads
  • Oversee timely reporting of tax, insurance and other reports required by governmental regulations
  • Coordinate annual audit and tax preparation
  • Maintain and update corporate company insurance policies (liability, D&O, etc.)      
  • Handle all company banking, monitoring and reconciling all company bank accounts          
  • Maintain and implement company expense policy             
  • Oversee Human Resource functions including payroll, 401K, profit sharing

Requirements
Requires BS in business related field or equivalent and 10 years experience in accounting and financial analysis to include 5 years supervisory or management experience. CPA preferred.  Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, proven analytical skills and proven organization skills, which includes the ability to present to and gain consensus at all levels of the organization.  Familiarity with accounting systems, budgeting/planning systems and spreadsheet application proficiency is required. Must be well organized and experienced in creating systems and controls in a growth environment.  

 

BOOKKEEPER JOB DESCRIPTION
Business: Burlingame based accounting services consultants

Basic Responsibilities

  • Prepare  accounts payable including proper coding to general ledger
  • Prepare checks and disbursements
  • Reconcile monthly bank statements
  • Set up payroll and report to outside payroll services
  • Prepare Purchase Orders utilizing QuickBooks and manage process flow from purchase to accounts payable.
  • Prepare payroll journal entries/cash ledger transactions/ deposits
  • Prepare customer invoices and track accounts receivables
  • Prepare quarterly local/city sales tax and other filings
  • Input of annual budgets and forecasts as needed
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management

Required Skills

  • Minimum 2 years general bookkeeping experience
  • Prefer experience in small business or start-up environment
  • Excellent computer skills, with proficiency in Quickbooks, Excel, and Word
  • Motivated self starter/good decision maker
  • Ability to use considerable judgment and initiative in course of executing responsibilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks for multiple clients
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate impeccable integrity
  • Knowledge of general office practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of written communications formats, business English, and composition
